User guide software update

As of November 2024, the Finapres® NOVA firmware download (software update) has been split into two separate downloads: one for Windows 7 and one for Windows 10. Therefore, before downloading the software, it is important to check and verify which version of Windows you are using. Instructions on how to check your Windows version can be found below.

Step 1: start your device

If you start your device, you will see the main menu.

Software release

Step 2: press on "System Settings"

Step 3: press on "Software"

Step 4: identify your Windows version

In this case the Windows version is Windows 10.

Based on your Windows Version (7 or 10) choose below your download.

If your device uses Windows 7:

Please make sure that you have the right version for the right update. Are you unsure about your software version, please contact support@finapres.com

Download only if your device runs on Windows 7.

The zip folder contains 2 files: Software Release Note and .nsi file.

After extraction, put the .nsi file on a USB stick (in the root, not in a folder) and read carefully the Software release note before proceeding with the software upgrade procedure.

Go to the software settings menu to update the software on the NOVA®. Select the file in the dropdown menu and press install. After the NOVA® has uploaded the software it shuts down. At that point, please start the NOVA® again and wait for the software to install. After a while, the main menu should appear and you should be ready to go.

After extraction, put the .nsi file and FGP file on a USB stick (in the root, not in a folder) and read carefully the Software release note before proceeding with the software upgrade procedure.

Go to the software settings menu to update the software on the NOVA®. Select the file in the dropdown menu and press install. After the NOVA® has uploaded the software it shuts down. At that point, please start the NOVA® again and wait for the software to install (this will take approximately 1.5 hours). After a while, the main menu should appear and you should be ready to go.
